So close!

Dear Friends & Family,

Things have been crazy lately.  We haven't gotten much info on the house until now and that's okay because we've hardly had time to think about it.  The movers came yesterday and we are officially living with Ryan for the next 10 days or so.  It's really hard to decide what you will or won't need for a whole month, but I think we did pretty good.  I'm just happy it's over, but now it's the hard part.  We start saying our goodbyes.  My last day of work is tomorrow and that is a little scary and sad and I'm sure I'm going to cry.  I'm just happy to have had this experience in Cheyenne.  Anyway, I know everyone has been waiting for an update, so here it is!  Hope you enjoy!

The front is finally done!  Now we just need grass!  :)

So that is the latest update...we're hoping they can push up the closing date because they are making so much progress.  This was by far my favorite update.  It's really starting to come together.  Hopefully next time we'll have counter tops and flooring.

Thanks for stopping in!

Love,

Shannon

Slow Moving

Dear Friends and Family,

So it's been a while since my last update, so I thought I would write a little something.  We haven't heard much, the progress has been a little slow.  We did find out that we can close the first week of August!  That was exciting news.  It's a little later than we hoped for, but at least we have a date and something to look forward to.

We're packing up on the 7th of July and staying with Ryan until our final departure on the 17th.  If you're in town please make plans to see us before then.  We're going to try to have a little get together at Ryan's that Friday or Saturday night.

Love,

Shannon

Little Bit of Progress

Dear Friends & Family,

The house is definitely moving along.  We're hoping to know what day we can close by this weekend.  Check out all the new pics our awesome realtor sent us!  :)

We should be getting another update tomorrow, with more pictures, and maybe even a video clip!  The weather has been beautiful here in Cheyenne the last couple days, so I'm hoping it's even better in Bellevue.

Thanks for stopping in!

Little Colorado Detour

Dear Friends & Family,

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind.  We've been busy with moving, house hunting, work, school, and all the other things that go along with life.  So, we decided to take a little detour from it all to celebrate...celebrate a very special birthday.  Now where I come from birthdays are a big deal.  It's the one day of the year where it should be all about you.  So this weekend was all about him.  We celebrated 31 years of his life together.  We napped in a hammock, drank wine, rode horses, and just relaxed.

.

So if you have never visited Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park, it's a must do!  This was his first trip, my second.  I wish we could have spent more time in the mountains, but I'm grateful for the time we had.  I'm also grateful the weather held out long enough for us to ride horses, something else he'd never done.

Bear Lake...it was still pretty frozen!
So Beautiful.
View from the hammock.
Horseback Riding
First time riding...did it like a pro!

I hope he enjoyed his birthday weekend as much I did!  It was different for us, but something we definitely want to do again.  Big thanks to Janie & Oliver at the Dripping Springs Resort for providing us with the best experience ever...it wouldn't have been the same without them and their awesome B&B.

I know this post wasn't about our move or a new house or Nebraska at all, but I hope you enjoyed it just the same.  More pictures of the progress to come really soon, so keep checking back!

Much love,

Shannon

P.S.  Happy birthday to Burdette...I know I've said it half a dozen times over the last week, but I hope we have a million more birthdays to celebrate together.  :)

Looks Like a House Now

Dear Friends & Family,

I know I mentioned before that we have been very lucky with our realtor, but we are also very lucky with our builder.  So far everyone has been extremely kind and helpful and gone above and beyond to help us.  Yesterday, we got a surprise email update with a couple of photos from our builder.  I was more than happy to get an update and was even more excited to see the progress.  I was happy that it was no longer just a plot of cement...it is now a house, our house.

I must say I was surprised at how far they had come since our last visit.  Nebraska has had a lot of rain and I know it's put a tiny delay on the construction.  Either way I'm happy with the progress.

It's getting harder and harder to be patient now.  I can't wait for more updates and I definitely can't wait until we get to move in and everyone starts to visit us.  And yes I mean everyone...I'm expecting lots of visitors during the first year.  I know I keep saying how excited I am, but it doesn't mean I won't miss all the friends we've made in Cheyenne.  Cheyenne will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Check back soon for more updates!

Love,

Shannon :)

Awesome New House

Dear Friends & Family,

So Burdette and I had a trip planned to Omaha for the 18th of May, but if you know me well at all, you know I get anxious and excited and can't wait for anything, so to Omaha we went on the 6th of May.  We gave our agent practically no notice and left on a Friday and came back on Sunday.  It's about a 7 hour drive, so we spent all day Saturday driving around looking at house after house and then we found this...

Now this little plot may not look like much...yet!!  :)  This is going to be our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, perfect first home together, that we are sooo excited about!  What really sold us on this house was the location.  If you're familiar with the area, we are right off 25th Street between 370 and Cornhusker Rd.  It's got perfect highway access and is just minutes from the base. And the BEST part is our backyard view...

No backyard neighbors to look at every day. Just peace and quiet. There is a little creek on the other side of the trees. It's so perfect for us. Here are some more pictures of us just being excited about our new house together!

Awesome walk out basement!

As you can tell the wind decided to follow us to Nebraska this time!

I promise I will try to keep up with this Blog.  I have been slacking a little bit since my first post, but there are plenty more to come!  Luckily, we have an awesome Real Estate Agent who will send more pics to keep us posted on the progress.

Thanks for visiting!!

Love,

Shannon
